We are working with a global water technology company focused on solving critical water and infrastructure challenges through innovative technology and digital solutions. They help utilities, industrial companies and communities manage water more efficiently, intelligently and sustainably.

We are looking for a Product Owner to join a Scrum team responsible for developing and evolving modern, cloud-based solutions. You will work at the intersection of business, customers, and engineering — translating needs and ideas into a clear product direction, well-defined requirements, and valuable features delivered by the team.

The role requires strong ownership of the product backlog, excellent stakeholder communication, and the ability to make informed product decisions in a complex technical environment.

Your daily responsibilities

• Own and prioritize the product backlog, ensuring that the team is focused on the highest-value initiatives

• Translate business and customer needs into clear epics, user stories, requirements, and acceptance criteria

• Define and communicate product vision and roadmap, balancing business value, customer needs, technical constraints, and delivery capacity

• Gather, structure, and validate requirements with customers and internal stakeholders

• Co-design platform functionalities across APIs, UIs, integrations, and communication flows

• Make informed decisions about scope, priorities, and trade-offs between delivery speed, product value, and technical debt

• Act as the key link between business and customer stakeholders and the engineering team

• Structure communication, facilitate alignment, and ensure clear ownership and expectations across stakeholders

• Lead and actively participate in Scrum ceremonies, including planning, refinement, reviews, and retrospectives

• Define acceptance criteria and validate delivered features against business and product requirements

• Maintain clear and structured documentation of initiatives, epics, and user stories throughout the product lifecycle

• Produce functional specifications and documentation when needed after feature delivery

• Track product performance and user feedback after release and use insights to inform future priorities and roadmap decisions

• Work closely with engineering and other stakeholders to continuously improve the product and ways of working

We need you to have

• Proven commercial experience as a Product Owner working in a Scrum team

• Strong analytical and decision-making skills, with the ability to evaluate options and make clear product decisions

• Proven, structured approach to end-to-end backlog management

• Experience translating business and customer needs into actionable requirements, epics, and user stories

• Good understanding of software development processes and the ability to work effectively with engineering teams

• Working knowledge of REST APIs and understanding of how APIs are used within modern digital products

• Ability to understand and discuss technical constraints without needing to be a hands-on developer

• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills

• Proactive communication style, including the ability to structure meetings, set expectations, and establish clear ownership boundaries

• Comfort working with ambiguity, changing requirements, and shifting priorities

• Strong ownership mindset and willingness to take responsibility for product decisions and backlog priorities

• Ability to balance customer needs, business goals, technical constraints, and delivery timelines

• Experience working in Agile / Scrum environments

• Good command of English, both spoken and written

It would be great if you also have

• Experience working with IoT platforms or connected products

• Experience with data analytics and data-driven products

• Experience working with data-intensive platforms, data processing, or data lakehouses

• Familiarity with AI-assisted and agentic ways of working and tools

• Experience using AI tools such as Claude or similar solutions in your product workflow

• Awareness of security considerations in product design

• Experience working with cloud-based products and services

• Experience working with products involving APIs, integrations, or distributed systems
